With great humility and gratitude I am proud to announce that the Tennessee Musicians Map has been accepted into the permanent collection of the Tennessee State Museum!
Below is the statement from the TSM curator, Renée White:
“Matt Reasor’s Tennessee Musician’s Map is one of the newer artifacts accepted into the permanent collection of the Tennessee State Museum. His knowledge of the history of Tennessee’s musical heritage is detailed and well-researched. The use of hand-etched metal plates in a dry point technique and inked in an intaglio style makes it a unique artifact in itself. Reasor’s interpretation of the three stars in the State flag exhibits his creative vision. It is beautifully done. We are very proud to include it in our collection.”

Tennessee State MuseumThe music of Tennessee has deep roots ranging from Blues to Bluegrass, Crunk to Classical, Tennessee has repeatedly produced extraordinarily pioneering, American musicians in every popular musical genre.
Years of traditional textbook reference, first hand travel and mainstream research have led me to pull together the Tennessee Musicians Map as a list and metal zinc plate etching original print.
The musicians listed were all born in Tennessee and have all achieved notable influence, relevance and awarded successes in music.– Matt Reasor
